MacHale Park in Castlebar is to be known as Hastings Insurance Brokers MacHale Park with immediate effect.

Hastings Insurance is a local company and takes over the sponsorship from Elverys who have held the naming rights since 2012. Elverys remain as principal commercial partners of the County which has its senior men’s team into an All Ireland Semi-Final, its Senior women in the All Ireland Quarter Final and its Senior Hurlers in the final of the Nicky Rackard Cup this weekend.

It remains on the shirt front but has given back its rights to the Stadium and to another position on the back of the shirt.

Welcoming the new partnership, County Board Chairperson Liam Moffatt said that “the partnership was great news for Mayo GAA and that we look forward to working with Hastings Insurance Brokers in the years to come.”

“MacHale Park is a prestigious GAA stadium with an immense history over the last 90 years. This partnership works in tandem with the other progressions that will occur in the stadium in the future.”.

“On behalf of Mayo GAA, I would like to welcome our new sponsor who have deep roots in the community and in the GAA.”

“Hastings Insurance are a well-known and reputable company and we look forward to working with them for many years.”

“I would also like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Pat Rowland and all of the team in Elvery’s for their unwavering and continued support over many years and for facilitating this development. By generously releasing the back of the jersey and stadium naming rights from previous agreements this has enabled further local support to be generated for Mayo GAA and its teams and we are sincerely grateful to Elvery’s for this initiative.”

“Mayo GAA has a bright future with excellent work being done throughout our organisation and especially so in our schools and clubs. We look forward to welcoming all of our supporters back to Hastings Insurance Brokers MacHale Park in the near future.”

Hastings Insurance was set up in 1980 by David and Mary Mc Dermott in Westport. Today the company has offices across Ireland located in Westport, Claremorris, Ballina, Castlebar, Tuam, Galway City, Sligo and most recently Dublin, following the acquisition of Thompson Insurances earlier this month.

“We are very much looking forward to working with Mayo GAA,” said Managing Director Paul McDermott.

“MacHale Park has a wonderful history and we are very proud to now be part of its future.”
