Basketball Ireland CEO
Basketball Ireland is the national governing body for basketball in Ireland. It is part of FIBA, the world governing body for basketball. The organisation’s primary role is to promote, develop, and support basketball at all levels and it receives support from Sport Ireland in this role.
It developed a Strategic plan 2015-2025 and while it has been very successful in implementing this plan, the Board feels it is now time to review the sports future direction.
A suitable candidate is being sought to continue the progress made by the sport in recent years, through the review and implementation of an updated Strategic Plan.
The new CEO will have a key role in driving this activity, under the guidance of the Board.
The successful applicant will face an exciting time in the sport, in a role that provides a very challenging and rewarding opportunity.
As Chief Executive Officer, you will lead the organisation and be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of Basketball Ireland. You will be accountable to the Board, as you drive the organisation forward by reviewing the current Strategic Plan and developing a new plan to continue the growth of the game.
As CEO, you will be expected to understand member’s needs, while having the ability to manage a complex portfolio of organisational responsibilities, including commercial and strategic priorities, operational effectiveness, stakeholder management, communications and financial/governance controls.
