The Aer Lingus College Football Classic has announced a landmark partnership with the Irish Wolfhounds National Flag Football Men’s and Women’s teams as they prepare for EuroFlag 2025 and a bid to qualify for the sport’s debut at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
EuroFlag 2025, taking place in Paris this September, will be a crucial event for the Irish Wolfhounds in their Olympic qualification journey towards the sport’s debut at LA28.
Natalia Hyland is Head of Sponsorship and Domestic Marketing for the Aer Lingus College Football Classic, and is also a player on the Irish Women’s National Flag Football Team.
“Bringing American football to Dublin each year as Ireland’s largest annual inbound tourism contributor and one of the most exciting sporting events of the summer, and now representing Ireland on the field, gives me a unique view of how far the sport has come here,” she said.
“It’s exciting to be involved at both ends as the game continues to grow.”
“The partnership offers a fantastic platform to showcase Ireland’s talent on the international stage and inspire the next generation of flag football players,” added Alan Lomasney, President of American Football Ireland.
The partnership will run alongside the countdown to the 2025 Aer Lingus College Football Classic — the first-ever Big 12 Conference match-up to take place in Ireland.
On August 23rd, Kansas State University will face Iowa State University in Week Zero of the U.S. college football season.
With more than 24,000 international fans already confirmed to travel, Dublin is set for a weekend of colour and celebration, from high-energy marching bands and cheerleaders to tailgating, pep rallies, and a top-class gridiron contest between two predicted conference finalists.
A limited number of tickets remain for domestic fans via ticketmaster.ie/collegefootball.
