The new SSE Airtricity League website has been launched ahead of tomorrow’s opening round of matches in the Premier League and First Division.
Champions Dundalk will start the defence of their title at home to Shamrock Rovers, live on eirSport, and tomorrow we will be taking a look at how both those sides are shaping up for the new season off the pitch.
We will also have a special feature on the way in which all the teams have developed their social media followings over the last two years.
The new SSE Airtricity League website has been developed to bring the league into the modern digital age with a live match centre, enhanced player profiles and better video integration.
Video is indeed central to the new site as it is on the FAI with a wide range of quality in house generated material on site and likely to build up quickly over the course of the season.
The new website is also fully mobile-optimized meaning supporters will be able to track their team live anywhere in the world, on the move.
SSE Airtricity League has also recruited a brand new team of reporters who will be at every league game across the Premier Division, First Division, Irish Daily Mail FAI Cup and EA SPORTS Cup to report live through the new match centre.
“We’re delighted to launch this brand new website for the SSE Airtricity League ahead of the Friday’s season kick-off,” said FAI Director of Competitions, Fran Gavin.
“There has been a lot of hard work accomplished behind the scenes at the FAI and we’re delighted with the final product. I’m sure club officials and fans will be also.”
“We’ll continue to develop the website over the next few weeks as we’re currently in the process of getting head-shots of every league player and official.
“The new website will also provide greater coverage on the Under-19 and Under-17 leagues whilst also providing match highlights of every Premier Division game throughout the season.”
“Overall, this is a great step forward for the SSE Airtricity League and we can’t wait until the season starts on Friday.”
