An average of 1.19 million viewers tuned into Virgin media’s coverage of Ireland’s win over Scotland in the Rugby World Cup on Saturday night.

And they’ll get the chance to do so again next weekend as Virgin have secured the broadcast rights for the Quarter final clash against New Zealand.

They will also be showing the match between Wales and Argentina on Saturday afternoon.

The other two Quarter finals between England and Fiji on Sunday afternoon, and between France and South Africa in the evening will be shown live on RTÉ2.

RTÉ will have first choice of the Semi Final matches to be played the following Friday (in the case of Ireland) and Saturday night.

Coverage of the Rugby World Cup Final on Saturday evening the 28th October will be shared between the two broadcasters.

Saturday’s game was watched by 74 percent of the viewing public at the time and peaked at 1.3 million.

An additional 107,000 live streams were shown on the Virgin Media Player.
