Northern Ireland senior women’s squad will be back in action early in 2024 in a UEFA Women’s Nations League relegation play-off.
Tanya Oxtoby’s squad will be aiming to retain their spot in League B as they face Montenegro over two legs – away and home – in February.
The team finished third in Group B1 of the inaugural edition of the competition played from September to December.
Two wins over Albania and a draw at home to Hungary left them with seven points while the Republic of Ireland topped the group with a full house of victories and the Hungarians finished in second place. Albania propped up the table with a solitary point.
Montenegro finished as runners-up to Azerbaijan in Group C3 with 12 points from six games.
The ties are set be played between 21 and 28 February with match dates, venues and kick-off time to be confirmed.
Northern Ireland senior men’s team will meanwhile play two away friendlies in March.
Michael O’Neill’s men travel to face both Romania and Scotland in the squad’s first international window of 2024.
The game against Romania is due to be staged at the Arena Națională, Bucharest on Friday 22 March with the kick off time to be confirmed.
Hampden Park in Glasgow will be the venue for the friendly against Scotland on Tuesday 26 March with a 7.45pm kick-off time.
Both opponents have qualified for UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany next summer.
Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland are set to play four friendlies in 2024 – two in March and two in June – before the next UEFA Nations League campaign begins in the autumn.
The draw for this will take place on February 8th.
