An Oasis Comeback has been confirmed this morning, with Noel and Liam Gallagher back on stage together for the first time in 15 years and coming to Croke Park.
The band will definitely play two dates, Saturday, August 16th, and Sunday, August 17th, 2025, earning in excess of €2 million for the Association.
It knocks on the head murmurings of a return to later in the summer for the All Ireland Finals, with the likely dates now for these being July 20th for the Hurling, July 27th for the Football, August 3rd for the Ladies’ Football, and August 10th for the Camogie Finals.
These four finals attracted almost 250,000 to the stadium this summer, while the four concerts Coldplay will play this weekend, added to the AC/DC gig from two weeks ago and Bruce Springsteen earlier in the summer, will have broken half a million in attendance.
That is a use and revenue supernova that would justify raising a glass of champagne, weaving its way through the season of Gaelic Games without a hitch.
