One of the largest permanent legacies of any Olympic Games is the venues it leaves behind.  The centres which will be used at this summer’s Olympic and Paralympic Games in London are now completed and De Zeen magazine has published a slideshow of 25 images from around the different venues.
Whether you are going to the games or will be watching from afar, these images will help to whet your appetite for the months ahead.
In the latest Olympic qualifying news, Katie Taylor made it through to the Quarter Finals of the World Championships in China.  That is not yet enough to secure her Olympic place as no fewer than six European boxers have made it to the last eight.  Taylor’s next bout is against former World Champion Mihaela Lacatus of Rumania who defeated the number eight seed in a surprise win yesterday.  Only two of the top eight seeds have made it to the Quarter Final stage.
