Rugby is very much centre stage this week with Provinces, players and sponsors involved in a wide range of promotional activities across the country.
Bank of Ireland is celebrating its sponsorship of both sides in Saturday’s Heineken Cup Final by dressing each of their shops in each of the provinces in flags and bunting.  A competition for one customer’s child to lead each of the teams out at Twickenham closed on Monday.
Heineken is trying to maintain it’s ownership of the day by promoting Heineken Star Saturday in pubs across the country.  Carlsberg is an official sponsor of the Champions’ League Final which makes up the second part of the evening’s entertainment, though most of the Diageo brand’s emphasis has been on the Euro Championships where it is also a main partner of both the FAI and UEFA.
A group of Munster Rugby players will be working in the kitchen and on the counter in Nando’s restaurant on Cork on Wednesday evening.  The special event at the Mahon Point Shopping Centre will raise money for the Simon Community through a raffle on the night for signed Munster jerseys and free Nando’s for a year.
The restaurant chain, originally from South Africa has seven outlets in Ireland with four in Dublin and two in Belfast.
Last year players from Leinster did a similar event in Dublin and in recent weeks Northampton and Saracens from the Aviva Premier League in England have also been part of the corporate social responsibility campaign.
Entry to the Cork restaurant on Wednesday will be on a first come, first served basis
