Dublin Ladies GAA player and Trinity College Dublin Alumna Nicole Owens was yesterday announced as a brand ambassador for Trinity Sport.

The new position is in recognition of her achievements as part of the three in a row Dublin Ladies Football All-Ireland Senior Championship winning team.

Owens will join fellow Trinity Alumni on the Trinity Sport ambassador programme including Mark Pollock, Ailish Egan, Ed Joyce and Hugo MacNeill .

“As a Trinity student Nicole was part of the team that won the Giles cup in 2015, since then she has gone on to claim three consecutive All Ireland titles with Dublin Senior Ladies GAA team,” said Michelle Tanner, Head of Sport and recreation at Trinity.

“Nicole has also become a strong advocate for mental health, women in sport and the LGBTQ community.”

“Trinity Sport is delighted to recognise Nicole’s achievements and provide the opportunity for students and the institution to learn and collaborate on sport for the future.”

“I have many great memories from my time at Trinity College Dublin, especially from my Trinity GAA playing days when we won the Giles Cup in fourth year,” added Owens.

“The team were brilliant that year – we had Davy Burke over us, who was the assistant manager with Dublin at the time. I have always had a connection to Trinity as both my parents graduated from here as well, it is a great honour to be back as a brand ambassador for Trinity Sport.”
