The Padel Federation of Ireland has announced the successful launch of a new National Junior Padel Programme, in partnership with Rockwell Financial Management.

The national programme, which kicked off this week, represents an exciting step forward in developing talent and fostering a love for Padel among young people in Ireland.

Padel, a racket sport which is taking the world by storm, is rapidly growing in popularity across Ireland, with newly built courts creating more opportunities for people to play.

The National Junior Programme aims to build on this momentum by offering young players a fun and supportive environment in which to build skills and friendships, with a clear pathway to potentially represent Ireland at European and International levels.

The National Junior Padel Programme aims to cultivate junior players by providing high-quality coaching, training, and mentorship. The programme kicked off with two launch workshops held at Bushy Park Padel Club, where dedicated National Junior Coaches worked with enthusiastic students from local schools who had signed up to be part of this initiative.

Due to demand from schools in the area, the Padel Federation will now be hosting additional free workshops at Bushy Park Padel Club before rolling out the programme nationwide. Interested schools and clubs are encouraged to sign up to bring this exciting programme to their communities.

“We are deeply grateful to Rockwell for supporting this initiative,” said Naomi Nicholl, President of PFI.

“Their backing allows us to provide young players with resources and training that will foster both skill and passion. Our collaboration with Rockwell aligns seamlessly with our vision to grow Padel across Ireland and create pathways for junior players to compete at both national and international levels.”

“We’re proud to support the National Junior Padel Programme,” added Robert Whelan, Managing Director of Rockwell.

“Our hope is that this initiative inspires a new generation of athletes while promoting values of well-being, inclusivity, and community development.”
