Aviva Stadium will provide free period products throughout the venue under a new partnership between Aviva and Irish period care company Riley.
The initiative will see Riley products installed across female and accessible bathrooms, as well as in player and referee changing rooms, covering almost 100 facilities across the stadium.
The launch comes ahead of Ireland’s Guinness Women’s Six Nations clash with Scotland on May 17th, the first standalone Women’s Six Nations fixture to be hosted at Aviva Stadium.
Research commissioned by Aviva found that 82 per cent of people who menstruate in Ireland have struggled to access period products in public venues when needed, while 62 per cent said they had left a sports or live event early because of a lack of access.
Caroline Cummins, Sponsorship Manager at Aviva Ireland, said the partnership was designed to make inclusion more practical and visible.
“Too often, people can’t fully enjoy sport, concerts or live events because period products aren’t available when they need them,” she said.
“As long-standing supporters of women’s football and rugby, we want Aviva Stadium to be a place where inclusion is backed up by action.
“By partnering with Riley, we’re helping to normalise period care in public spaces and ensure support is there when it matters.”
Riley Co-Founder Fiona Parfrey said access to period care should be treated as a basic expectation in public venues.
“By bringing free, sustainable period products to Aviva Stadium, we’re helping make inclusive public spaces the standard rather than the exception,” she said.
The partnership is the largest stadium-based period care initiative introduced in Ireland and reflects the growing focus on improving the supporter experience and accessibility at major sporting venues.
