Power NI, part of Energia Group, has announced an exciting new partnership with Ulster Rugby to support the Women and Girls’ game.
The energy supplier will become an official sponsor of the Ulster Rugby Senior Women’s team, and will also support the development of the U18 Girls squad.
This announcement coincides with the kick-off of the 2023/24 Vodafone Women’s Interprovincial Championship, with Ulster facing Munster in their first game of the competition this Saturday 12 August (KO 3pm) at City of Armagh R.F.C.
The partnership expands on Energia’s role as a partner of Leinster Rugby, as the Official Energy Partner of the IRFU and naming rights partner of the Energia All Ireland Leagues and Energia Stadium in Dublin.
The deal was assisted by Darragh Persse of The Brand Fans.
“Women’s rugby is going from strength to strength, and we are proud to see our logo on the jerseys of these talented athletes,” said William Steele, Director of Customer Solutions at Power NI.
“This partnership demonstrates Power NI’s commitment to supporting Women and Girls’ sport and is a natural fit given our parent company, Energia Group, is a name synonymous with Irish Rugby.”
“We want to continue to champion the sport from grassroots right up to the international level. The Power NI team has many Ulster Rugby fans amongst us and there’s a real excitement surrounding the partnership internally.”
“We hope that this positive exposure will inspire women of all ages to get involved and enjoy the game.”
“We look forward to welcoming Power NI onboard as a new club sponsor,” added Jonny Petrie, CEO of Ulster Rugby.
“Both Ulster Rugby and Power NI are invested in developing the Women and Girls’ game in the province, with participation and performance set to grow in the seasons ahead.”
“The upcoming Interpro Championship is an important event in our Player Pathway to nurture local talent, and the Senior Women taking to the field this Saturday with Power NI on the new 23/24 Ulster Rugby jersey will be a fitting way to mark the start of our partnership.”
In addition to sponsoring the Senior Women’s and U18 squads, Power NI has also become the official sponsor of the Ulster Rugby Youth League, sustaining and nurturing local young talent and promoting participation, health, fitness and wellbeing.
