Sport for Business is working with specialist fundraising consultancy 2into3 to bring expertise in this area to a wider audience within sport. The first iteration of this in 2017 is the holding of a place for a sporting organisation on a new workshop series taking place between January and May.
Their will be ten workshops in total covering key principles, organisational and strategic components, modelling, planning, prospecting, cultivation and management of donors.
A number of Not for Profit organisations are already signed up to take part but together we see the importance of raising the capacity for sport to really engage with the tactics and strategies needed to secure the best outcomes in the medium to long term.
“For each workshop series, we will work with five organisations in a high quality collaborative process in order to develop capacity and customised fundraising strategies,” said 2into3 CEO Dennis O’Connor.
“On completion, participants will have developed a fundraising strategy for their organisation and an increased knowledge of fundraising implementation.”
The workshop series utilises 2into3’s experience in conjunction with Prospect 23, Diaspora Matters and invited experts, working with a small number of organisations in a high quality collaborative capacity building process.
At the end of the course each organisation will emerge with a specific fundraising strategy according to best practice standards, increased capacity on how to build donor network and a coherent understanding and approach to fundraising at organisational level.
It is the kind of initiative that will yield real long term benefit for organisations long on ambition but short on the means to make it happen.

Later in the Spring we will be hosting special Club Workshops around the country looking at areas of governance, fundraising, sponsorship and club management. Contact Sport for Business today if you would like to know more about this series.
