This Sunday’s Sports Direct FAI Cup Final between Bohemians and St Patrick’s Athletic will be loud, colourful, boisterous and a pointer to what the domestic game can deliver week in, week out, albeit on a supersized scale.

Over 40,000 tickets have already been sold for the the Aviva Stadium, beating the 37,126 who saw a dramatic win for St. Patrick’s Athletic over their Dublin rivals when they met in 2021.

The bigger target now is to break the record held since 1945 between Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers at Dalymount Park, where 41,238 were in attendance for Irish football’s showpiece event.

The FAI is urging everyone with a ticket to attend the game. They will not be disappointed.

We have two SSE Airtricity league of Ireland Clubs as members of the Sport for Business community. Shamrock Rovers have already won the League. We wish Bohs well in their bid to land a SFB double on Sunday, though obviously may the best team on the day win.
