Rockshore and Rockshore 0.0 are to become the official beer and the official alcohol-free beer of the League of Ireland.
The new deal will kick off in January and will be for an initial period of four years.
The partnership will encompass the men’s and women’s game, and “reflects a shared ambition to champion the growth of the League of Ireland across the country, and elevate the fan experience.”
Both sides say that they are “committed to creating engaging football moments that put loyal fans at the heart of the action.”
The brand joins SSE Airtricity, Sports Direct, Evoke.ie, Extra.ie and EA Sports as partners of the domestic game in the Republic of Ireland, a sign of the growing presence of the League in the hearts and minds of Irish sports fans.
The recent BDO League of Ireland Economic Assessment report, which highlighted the €164.7 million contributed to the Irish economy through the League, demonstrates the potential for the domestic game to develop further, and the opportunity to welcome even more supporters through the gates and into pubs around the country to watch the magic of the League of Ireland.
“We are delighted to welcome Rockshore to the League of Ireland and very excited about collaborating with the Rockshore team over the next four years to promote and grow two Irish brands,” said Mark Scanlon, Director of the League of Ireland.
“Working closely with our clubs, we’ll create an even more vibrant and engaging experience for fans, ensuring that League of Ireland football continues to thrive.”
“This new partnership is an exciting opportunity for the continued development of the League of Ireland,” added Sean Kavanagh, Commercial Director at the FAI.
“We’re delighted to partner with such an industry leading brand in Rockshore and are really excited by the plans that the team at Rockshore have as it has been clear that we share the same ambition in developing the League here.”
“This is truly an exciting time for the League of Ireland, and Rockshore is thrilled to be part of the journey,” said
Anne Zahan, Head of Beer at Diageo Ireland.
“Through this partnership we are committed to investing in the passion of fans across the country. From local pubs to packed stadiums, Rockshore will be there, raising a pint to the magic of Irish football.”
