Shamrock Rovers’ UEFA Europa Conference League play-off ties against Estonian Champions, FC Flora Tallinn will be shown live on mainstream TV in Ireland with both Virgin Media and RTÉ signing up to one game each in the two-leg play-off.
The first leg in Tallinn takes place this Thursday 19th August with a 5 pm kick-off. This game will be broadcast live on Virgin Media Two and on the Virgin Media Player.
The home leg in Tallaght Stadium a week later will have a 7.45 pm kick-off and will be broadcast live on RTÉ2 and on the RTÉ Player.
Preparations were being put in place to offer a live stream of the games on Rovers’ own club channel SRFC TV, as had been the case in the qualifying rounds to have brought the club to this stage.
None of the qualifiers involving Bohemians, Dundalk, Sligo Rovers or Shamrock Robers have been shown live up to this point on mainstream TV.
“The club is delighted that both games will now be available to the maximum potential viewership. We are delighted to have both Virgin Media Television and RTÉ TV partner with us in Europe,” said the club in a statement yesterday.
Virgin Media has secured the rights to the Europa League and the Europa Conference League at the Group Stage. RTÉ and Virgin media will share Tuesday and Wednesday coverage of the UEFA Champions League, with every game streamed live by new rights holder LiveScore in the Irish market.
