The beauty of sport is that it keeps rolling along and keeps producing stories of achievement.

In the wake of a memorable Olympic Games where Team ireland rowers once again came home with Gold and Bronze, just as they had from Tokyo, you could be forgiven for the sport taking time to reflect and renew.

Indeed Paul O’Donovan skipped home early from Paris because he had to complete a shift or two as a Doctor.

But he was hardly off the water before he was back in the air and travelling to Canada for the Rowing World Championships where he once again starred in an incredibly strong Irish team performance.

The Irish athletes secured two gold medals, two bronze medals, and a number of top 10 finishes, highlighting their skill and determination on the world stage.

O’Donovan added another gold to his collection, winning the Lightweight Men’s Single Sculls with a commanding performance.

The inspiration of what he has achieved over three Olympic cycles was evident in Donnacha Keeley and Ciaran Purdy bringing home a gold medal in the U23 Lightweight Men’s Double Sculls, dominating their final.

Siobhan McCrohan secured a bronze medal in the Lightweight Women’s Single Sculls, underscoring her position as one of the top competitors in the world.

Brian Colsh and Adam Murphy earned a bronze medal in the U23 Men’s Double Sculls.

There were a host of other Final and Top 10 performances for a sport that is clearly going from strength to strength at the highest level.

Rowing Ireland has attracted commercial sponsorship from Whoop, MG, Coillte, Kinetica, Avison Young and others but remains a sport that could be particularly attractive to an overall main commercial partner.
