Poland has been one of the less affected nations in terms of exposure to COVID-19 and that provides some hope that the rescheduled European Rowing Championships in Poznan will go ahead from October 9th to 11th.
Irish rowers including World Champion Sanita Puspure would hope to compete as part of their build-up to Tokyo 2020.
The original dates for the Championships were from June 5th to 7th but they fell victim to a wave of cancellations across Europe.
The organisers have set a date of July 31st as a ‘stop-go’ deadline for the Championships proceeding in October. This gives a degree of certainty so that competitors can plan out their preparations.
