The League of Ireland and RTÉ have confirmed the first four fixtures that have been selected for live broadcast in the SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division ahead of the new season.
Champions Shamrock Rovers will welcome Dundalk on the opening night at Tallaght Stadium while last season’s other top three teams will meet at The Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium on Friday, 1 March when Derry City meet Sports Direct Men’s FAI Cup winners St. Patrick’s Athletic.
Newly promoted Galway United meet Stephen Bradley’s side on 15 March, while the Dublin Derby between Shamrock Rovers and Bohemians will be broadcast on RTÉ2 on Friday, 29 March.
A further fixture on Friday, 5 April, 2024 will be broadcast live on RTÉ2 television from the SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division with the selection to be confirmed in due course.
This comes hot on the heels of Virgin Media doubling their commitment to 14 games to be broadcast this season, TG4’s ongoing support of the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division and the LOITV streaming service.
The League has not been in as strong a position for many years and the new season launch will be taking place early next month with plenty of coverage right here on Sport for Business.
