
Last night they delivered, in one of the most one sided Superbowls in history. they were 36-0 up before Denver got their first score in the third quarter and many of those businesses who invested $4 Million to show a 30 second slot before a passionate audience of sports fans and consumers will wake up this morning wondering how many will have already switched off by the time their money was burned.
It is the nature of sport that events are unpredictable. That is what makes it so compelling. This was supposed to be a classic and so many recent Superbowls had delivered precisely that with the result in doubt all the way to the line.
The Marketeers will console themselves with the ‘noise’ that surrounds the advertising delivering as big and engaged an audience as the TV spot could probably reach anyway. This Budweiser ad has already generated 35 million views on you tube and was considered to be the best of the bunch.
