A new initiative is inviting members of the public to help shape future research priorities for women’s sport, physical activity, and exercise across the island of Ireland.
The campaign, titled “Shape the Agenda,” is led by Míde Research in partnership with Sport Ireland, Donegal Sports Partnership, and other institutions, and aims to gather input from individuals with diverse experiences and perspectives on women’s sport and physical activity.
The survey is open to everyone aged 18 and over, and organisers are particularly eager to hear from a wide range of stakeholders including Athletes and exercisers; Coaches and exercise professionals; Parents and teachers; Journalists and medical professionals; Leaders, practitioners, and volunteers in sport; Fans and supporters of women’s sport.
The 15-minute survey is designed to identify key priorities for future research into sport and physical activity among women and girls.
The findings are expected to play a vital role in guiding policy, funding, and programming in the years ahead.
By scanning the QR code below respondents can access the online survey directly. Further information is also available on the Míde Research website, mideresearch.com, or by contacting the project lead at denise.martin@atu.ie.
The research effort is supported by a consortium of academic and sporting institutions, including Atlantic Technological University (ATU), Technological University of the Shannon (TUS), Ulster University, and the University of Lincoln.
Organisers are keen to emphasise the inclusive nature of the project, noting that the term “women’s sport” in this context is broad and encompasses all forms of physical activity and exercise.
