Just Eat is a proud partner of the UEFA Europa League and have teamed up with former Newcastle United and Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Shay Given to launch their latest campaign, ahead of the UEFA Europa League Final taking place in Dublin, on Wednesday the 22nd of May.

Following on from the viral success Just Eat’s campaign titled ‘The Nutmeg’ with John O’Shea last year, they have partnered with ‘Ireland’s Second Favourite Goalkeeper’ Shay Given to produce a video titled Any ‘Given’ Wednesday, which is now live across all Just Eat social media channels.

The video features Given as you have never seen him before with a top top top top top top Kevin Keegan impersonation, and a take on our favourite Hollywood sporting speech from Al Pacino.

It is well worth a watch and the Shay Given stare will stay with you for longer than you might imagine.

Then having seen what happened to John O’Shea, it might be worth putting a Euro on Shay to succeed Pap as Man City Manager. You heard it here first.

The tongue and cheek video content centres on the commitment of Irish supporters being questioned in the media and Given stepping in to deliver a rousing speech to Irish football fans, calling on them to deliver the support they are known for and to live up to their reputation of being dedicated and lively fans, when the UEFA Europa League Final takes place on Irish turf later this month.

It also features appearances from notable familiar faces such as TNT presenter Laura Woods, YouTuber and former England goalkeeper Ben Foster and finally The Wealdstone Raider.

Speaking about the video, inspiration, hero, top pundit off the telly and Just Eat ambassador Shay Given said,

“I have really enjoyed working with Just Eat again this year to create Any ‘Given’ Wednesday. The UEFA Europa League Final is set to be a night of football and a great occasion for both Irish and visiting supporters, and I am encouraging all Irish fans to
deliver at home and help get those headlines.”

“Just Eat are delighted to be working with Shay again for a second year in a row,” said John Carey, Head of Marketing for Just Eat Ireland.

“We are proud to be sponsoring the UEFA Europa League and with the final taking place in Dublin this year, we really wanted to mark the occasion through our partnership with Shay.”

“The final is set to be a great evening of football which we are looking forward to and we hope all supporters in Dublin, whether they are cheering for Atalanta or Leverkusen enjoy the experience.”
