We had the privilege to be at the launch on Friday night of Team Ireland for the Special Olympics World Games taking place in Abu Dhabi this March.
A team of 91 athletes will travel, along with coaches and family making up to a party of over 200 and they all came together in Dublin over the weekend to learn more about what they will face on the journey of a lifetime.
We will be dropping in on the preparations with the Special Olympics Ireland team and partners over the coming weeks. The excitement as the team entered the room to the strains of The Greatest Showman was as great as you would get for teams running out at Croke Park or the Aviva Stadium.
