The tournament is generating plenty of interest in the sport in Ireland and showing off again Ireland’s capacity to host international tournaments.
With 24 teams playing across courts at the National Basketball Arena and the Sport Ireland National Sports Campus it is some event for Ireland to host and to throw up a crunch game against Britain on home soil is an added bonus.
It has also generated new sponsorship for Basketball Ireland with BBX Ireland coming on board as a sponsor of the tournament before it tipped off last weekend.
Established in 1993, BBX is the world’s largest complimentary currency platform and is currently operating across 14 different countries internationally.

The services on offer range from professional support to insurance and the company handles excess inventory in areas such as hotel rooms, restaurants, advertising space and more.
“We are absolutely delighted to be sponsoring the Under 18 Women’s European Championships,” said Paul Gahan of BBX.
“We look forward to this event being the start of a long and fruitful partnership with Basketball Ireland.”
“We are delighted to welcome BBX on board as a partner for what is proving to be a very special event for Irish basketball,” added Basketball Ireland Commercial Manager Conor Meany.
“The service that BBX offers is one that we believe will be of interest to a lot of business owners around the country and we look forward to working with them as they further develop their presence here in Ireland.”
Sport for Business will be at the Arena tonight and cheering on Ireland towards the conclusion of the event next weekend. Tickets for the games can be booked and the games followed at the tournament website here.
