With the Rugby World Cup almost upon us there has been much talk of the ‘what if’ around hosting this year’s tournament.
Rob Hartnett of Sport for Business spoke to Matt Cooper of the Last Word on Today FM about the value that could have been driven towards Ireland, the excitement it would have generated and more.

Then this Tuesday a debate erupted over whether Ireland was really all that excited about the tournament.
Some of those interviewed felt they had no connection to the sport and it is true that there is a subdued run up to the weekend games.
Driving through Ballsbridge gives little indication of the games ahead whereas down the road in Ringsend the whole place was festooned with flags and posters when the Women’s World Cup was taking place in July.
