RTE’s Primetime is filming a piece today on the wave of allegations currently washing around sport at the highest level.
From accusations of match fixing in tennis to corruption at the highest levels of soccer and athletics, these are challenging days for those who administer sport and for those who invest their money and their passion in the support of teams, players and events.
It is an important question to stay on top of, and yet as the allegations mount so too does the interest in media coverage, promotional campaigns, fan numbers, sponsorship and the value of sport to local as well as the global economy.
Rob Hartnett from Sport for Business will be one of those filmed for the segment, in between attending announcements of new sponsorships for Paralympics Ireland and the Ladies Gaelic Football Association and news of a major new international sports event coming to Ireland in June.
