Toyota is a global partner of the International Paralympic Committee for 2020 in Tokyo and 2024 in Paris and is also a local supporter of Paralympics Ireland across the same two cycles.

Last week the world’s fastest Paralympian Jason Smyth spoke to staff and dealers at the company’s Irish headquarters in Dublin.

We caught up afterwards with Toyota’s Marketing and PR Manager Zoe Bradley on how the company would be activating it’s partnership.

“The reaction from our staff and dealers was fantastic as Jason told his story,” she said.

“He is such an impressive athlete but also such an impressive person and bringing him in to speak to our teams was very inspiring.”

“It is exciting that Jason has been selected as one of eight global athletes to appear in a new documentary series being produced by the Olympic Channel.”

Toyota has a team of 250 global athletes working with us as part of our partnership across the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Not only is he the only Irish athlete but also the only Paralympian to feature as part of this important series.”

“His story will be told to millions and it is great to be able to have him speak to us in a more intimate setting here.”

“Toyota’s global campaign is based around Start your Impossible. We have lots of assets from the global campaign but it is always important to make it relevant for a local audience and that is what we will be looking to do as we countdown to Tokyo net summer.”

“We want to celebrate the achievements of our Paralmpic athletes and really bring their effort and success to as wide an audience as possible.”

“We are also conscious of the fact that The Paralympic Games are a four year high and we want to work on keeping the profile elevated between Tokyo and Paris.”

“We have had Ellen Keane in with our team before, chatting with Paul O’Connell and using great ambassadors like these will be part of our own strategy to make the global Toyota partnership relevant in Ireland.”
