Student Sport Ireland has a 22-strong Team Ireland competing at the 32nd World University Games, taking place in the Rhine-Ruhr region of Germany later this month.
The student-athletes are competing across six sports: archery, athletics, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo and tennis.
Among the athletes selected are three who also represented Team Ireland at the Paris Olympic Games. Kate O’Connor, Sophie O’Sullivan and Jack Raftery are adding a world-class dimension to the team.
To bring fans closer to the action, Student Sport Ireland partnered with Branding Sport, a creative agency and Sport for Business member, to launch the SSI World University Games Hub.
This dedicated online platform is designed to keep supporters up to date with the latest news, results, and event schedules for Irish athletes during the Games.
“With so much going on at the Games, we wanted to make sure there was a specific destination for fans of the Irish team where they could get up-to-date information and news on the team, the results, and the upcoming events for the Irish athletes,” said Patrick Murphy, Managing Director at Branding Sport.
“The team at Student Sport Ireland have been working very hard to promote third-level sport in Ireland, and we’re very proud to be supporting them.”
The Games offer a unique international platform for student-athletes, blending elite performance with the spirit of global education and cultural exchange.
Team Ireland’s involvement is coordinated by Student Sport Ireland, with strong backing from the national sporting community and the colleges from which the students are drawn.
