Tennis Ireland has announced the launch of a new Women in Tennis Programme – “Court Bosses”.

This programme equips teenage girls between the ages of 16 and 18 with a Level 1 Coaching Qualification and tailored empowerment and personal development training.

This pilot programme was rolled out in Ulster in May, and plans are to scale it nationwide in the coming months.

The programme was officially launched by Letty Lucas (President of Tennis Ireland), Kevin Quinn (CEO of Tennis Ireland), and the Court Bosses Project Team of Nuala Phillips, Lisa Strutt, Sinéad Sharkey-Steenson, Michelle Daly Hayes, Sara McCraken, Stephen Garvin and Aoife O’Sullivan in Hilden Tennis Club in Lisburn on Tuesday.

The launch was attended by Emma Little Pengelly, Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland, a host of local dignitaries and representatives of Sport Ireland and Sport NI.

Sport for Business will host its Annual Women in Sport Conference on Thursday, November 28th. This is one of many events planned for the remainder of 2024.
