491,000 viewers tuned into TG4’s coverage of the TG4 Women’s Football finals on Sunday with an average audience of 204,900 people watching the live broadcast of the Senior Final between Meath and Kerry.

The match had a 30.6 per cent share of viewing at the time which was in line with the same figure from last season when the game was played in September.

The highest average figure achieved was in 2017 when a total of 303,800 viewers representing 40 per cent of the available viewership for Dublin’s first of their four-in-a-row sequence.

The peak number of those watching this year came at 17:10 with the match drawing to a conclusion. It was at that time competing with the Final of the Women’s Euro 2022 Championship between England and Germany being shown on RTÉ.

An additional 34,000 streams were watched on the TG4 Player with 40 per cent of those coming from overseas.

The attendance at Croke Park was 46,440, the third highest ever and the biggest for a final that did not involve Dublin.

TG4 signed a five-year extension earlier this year and will carry coverage of the Championship through to 2027 at least.
