GAA Beo TG4TG4 has revealed details of the matches it will be covering live and deferred as part of a spring programme of GAA coverage leading up to the award of a new broadcast media deal which will come into place in May of this year.

The coverage begins this weekend with live action from the final of the Bord na Mona O’Byrne Cup Final between Kildare and Meath.

There will be coverage then throughout February, March and April of matches from the Allianz Football and Hurling Leagues, the AIB All Ireland Club Hurling & Football Championships, Cadbury All-Ireland Under 21 Football Championship, Irish Daily Mail Sigerson & Fitzgibbon Cup Finals, Masita Post Primary Schools Senior Finals, O’Connor Cup Final and the Tesco Ladies National Football League Finals.

The station will continue its popular hour long highlights programme on Monday evenings wrapping up all of the action from the previous weekend.

It will also bring back the super slow motion coverage that added to coverage of the major finals last year.

“We are looking forward to a new season of live gaelic games coverage on TG4,” said TG4’s Rónán Ó Coisdealbha. “The demand of TV viewers for live sport continues to grow and we are pleased to be able to cater for sport at the highest level for our audience.”

Both reigning All Ireland Champions Dublin and Clare will feature in the opening three weeks coverage of the Allianz Leagues and all Three National League finals in Ladies Gaelic Football will be covered in a triple header on May 10th.

TG4 is believed to be one of the broadcasters who has expressed interest in continuing as a partner of the GAA when the new packages of media rights are determined to run from May 2014 through to 2016.
