Rob Hartnett was a guest with Pat Kenny on Newstalk this week talking about the Drive to Survive effect of Netflix and the rise of the Sports Documentary.

We spoke about the impact on the revenues and the supporter base of F1, the reduction of the average fans age from 36 to 32, and the ways in which other sports from tennis and golf to rugby and football are trying to emulate the connections it has created.

We also went local looking at the sporting and cultural importance of documentaries here like Donal Óg Cusack’s Coming out of the Curve in 2015, four months before the equality referendum, and of Blues Sisters which contributed to the surge in Ladies’ Football.
