The US Masters gets underway today. It is one of the most iconic sporting events on the calendar and draws in a fan base way beyond what would usually be switched on to golf.
It is the pinnacle for the players but is also one of the most prestigious sporting events to be associated with as a sponsor.
That is despite the fact that you will have to look hard to spot the sponsors around Augusta National.
It is a classic example of less is more and each of the four Champion Partners and three Tournament Partners are at the top end of the sponsorship market.
They would need to be with figures of $8 million per deal not being challenged.
Bank of America is a new Champion Partner for 2025.
“Through Bank of America’s support of our community initiatives and amateur events, they have become an impactful and committed partner in our organisation’s mission in Augusta and around the globe,” said Augusta National chairman Fred Ridley as they were announced.
“This announcement celebrates an expansion of our relationship, and we are delighted to welcome Bank of America to our valued family of Masters Tournament partners, which together will strengthen the Tournament for many years to come.”
They join AT¶T, IBM and Mercedes-Benz at the top level. Each has been there for the long term, though tariffs on imports of cars if staying in place, will place pressure on the last named of those.
They are joined at the next level by Delta Airlines, Rolex and UPS.
This year’s tournament TV coverage will expand to 14 hours over Saturday and Sunday.
For most of its history, it never even allowed the front nine holes to be shown at all. This year the first two hours on each day will be shown in the US on Paramount+ with the last five on CBS.
Across Ireland and Britain, Sky’s coverage will be ubiquitous and riveting
