The Sporting Year Ahead is one of our major events of the year, gathering leaders from across sport and business to look forward with anticipation.

Throughout the year, we will highlight the events of note, both in sport and in the business of sport, taking place each month so that you can stay ahead of the game.

The annual event will take place again in January 2026 in partnership with Teneo.

ESA Ireland Event

April 2nd 08-15 to 11-00 at offices of Electric Ireland, Fitzwilliam Street

The European Sponsorship Association Ireland Branch will hold a special networking event on the morning of Wednesday, April 2nd looking back on Irish success at last week’s European Sponsorship awards in London.

 

SSE Airtricity League of Ireland Men’s Premier Division

April 4th, 11th, 18th, 21st and 25th

There are five full rounds of action in April with one game each round televised live and free to air on Virgin Media

 

GAA Provincial Football Championships

Each weekend in April

Each of the provincial GAA Championship Finalists will be known at the end of four weekends of intense action

 

Aintree Grand National

Saturday, April 5th

Hope will be high of another Irish trained winner of the world’s richest and best known steeplechase.

 

Women’s One Day International Cricket World Cup Qualifier

April 9th to 19th

Six teams including Ireland bidding to claim a place at the World Cup in September.  Ireland last qualified for this back in 2005.

 

US Masters Golf

April 10th to 13th

Swim Ireland Irish Open Championships

Saturday, April 12th to Tuesday, April 16th at Sport Ireland Campus National Aquatic Centre

 

Guinness Women’s Six Nations Rugby

April 12th, April 20th and April 26th

Ireland play England in Cork on April 12th in Cork, and are away to Wales on Sunday 20th, and to Scotland on Saturday 26th.

 

Lidl National League Finals 

Saturday 12th April

Armagh will play Kerry in Division One, and Cork will play Galway in Division Two of the Lidl National Leagues at Croke Park on Saturday, April 12th.

 

SSE Airtricity League of Ireland Women’s Premier Division

Saturday 12th and 19th April

There are two rounds of SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier League action in April.
