If you get it as a sport you are all in on Super Bowl Sunday. I have to admit that is me and it was 04:30 before I was sliding away to bed last night after watching Patrick Mahomes lead the Kansas City Chiefs to their third Super Bowl triumph in five years.

That is a remarkable achievement in a sport where the best players each year coming out of college go to the worst teams from the previous season.

It is also the team of Travis Kelce, boyfriend to Taylor Swift who was there last night and very much to the fore in US TV coverage, possible to watch now through the NFL Game Pass and bringing with it all of the famous Super Bowl TV ads.

It was Vegas last night, a first for the biggest night of the year in US Sport and the numbers of TV viewers are likely to have smashed all records.

We will wash up all of that through the week but for those who are more into the marketing than the machinations of moving the sticks here are nine of the best TV ads from last night, and to get us started one that nobody will have guessed, for Jesus. It’s America.
