The sporting weekend illustrated by 5 key numbers:

81,553 – The attendance at Croke Park on Sunday afternoon for Dublin Versus Kerry.  That was the biggest sporting attendance of the day across Europe.  It compared to 44,411 who saw Liverpool against Manchester United in the English Premier League.

7 – The number of times Dublin and Kerry were level during yesterday’s classic All Ireland Semi Final encounter.  It was also the winning margin after Dublin scored two decisive goals in the closing minutes.
10 – Position achieved by Monika Dukarsha and Leonora Kennedy in the Women’s Double Sculls at the Rowing World Championships in Korea.
2 – The number of races (out of two) won by local heroine Annalise Murphy on the opening day of the European Laser Sailing Championships out of the National Yacht Club in Dun Laoghaire.
100,000,000 – The value in Euros of the transfer deal which takes Welsh footballer Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur to Real Madrid. Today is transfer deadline day across Europe but no other deal will match this.  It represents a €93 million profit for Spurs who bought the player from Southampton six years ago.
