The Sporting Year Ahead event took place on Thursday morning in front of a virtual audience of over 200 members of the Sport for Business community.

Conversations that took place with some of the leading figures in Irish sport and business.

These include Peter Sherrard, CEO of the Olympic Federation of Ireland, Martin Murphy, CEO of the Aviva Stadium and Jonathan Hill, CEO of the FAI.

This morning’s interview is with Chris Bird, CEO of Sports Travel International.

“We’re ready to mobilise right now but we have to make sure that the airlines are ready, the hotels are ready and the event organisers are ready.

“We’ve got things booked in for the second half of the year and we are ready to go when the world is ready.”

“The organisers are ready for the resumption of travel and participation.”

“We’ve just got to get people there, and ensure that we have good health and safety measures in place and that the towns, cities, hotels and everybody else is ready for the impact of people coming in to take part and to watch.”

Join us again for the conversations with our other guest speakers, a look at the world of sponsorship in 2021 and at the trends in terms of sport and exercise revealed by our friends and partners Teneo.
