The Ireland Men’s Under-17s will face Portugal, Germany and Croatia in the Elite Round of Qualifiers for the U17s EUROs next year following a draw in Nyon this morning.

The games will take place in Portugal with the top two going forward to the U17 Finals stage to be held in Cyprus.

Colin O’Brien’s side finished second in their group having beaten Armenia 4-0 and drawing 0-0 with both Iceland and Switzerland.

Last year, O’Brien led his team to the quarter-finals of the tournament and will be looking to reach the finals in Cyprus in the summer.

This is the last year that 16 teams can qualify for the finals.

From the 2024/25 season onwards qualification will consist of Round 1 and Round 2 in a League A and League B format where just eight teams will make the U17 EURO Championships.
