Nominations have opened today for the annual Volunteers in Sport Awards hosted by the Federation of Irish Sport in partnership with the National Network of 29 Local Sports Partnerships. They will remain open until December 17th.
The awards recognise and celebrate the extraordinary contributions of Ireland’s 460,000+ volunteers. These individuals dedicate their time, energy, and passion to their clubs and communities, which supports 1.47 million sports club members around the country to be active and engaged in sport.
The value of volunteering in sport in cash terms is estimated to be worth in the region of €1.5 billion.
There will be a winner for each county and a cash prize for their club.

SPORT FOR BUSINESS PERSPECTIVE
Everyone involved in sport will have their own story of a volunteer that helped them on their journey, whether that was to an Olympic Podium or a Junior D Shield Final. This is a great chance to recognise those who are turning upo in the wind and rain to keep the show on the road.
WHAT’S UP NEXT?
Nominations close on December 17th and the Awards ceremony will take place early in 2025.
The Sport for Business Membership comprises nearly 300 organisations, including all the leading sports and sponsors, as well as commercial and state agencies.
