Each Friday, we want to bring you some creative content in the sports and sponsorship space that we think you will enjoy.

The nature of video content is always developing, from ten-second clips to catch the eye on social media to deeper, longer content, once the preserve of TV but now appearing with greater regularity on owned channels.

AIG this week launched the first episode of a new Ladies Gaelic Football Association behind-the-scenes series, “Making It Happen”

“It has been great working with all at Future Proof Media. TG4, and the Ladies Gaelic Football Association on this project as well as the Cork, Westmeath, and Carlow teams,” said Head of Sponsorship John Gillick.

Episode One is now live, showing the commitment and effort these athletes put into playing for their counties in pursuit of provincial and All-Ireland glory!

And the LGFA have been creating their own content as well.

The first video of the new ‘Greatest Gift’ series focuses on parents’ involvement when their daughters were playing—and beyond. The central sentiment is how it brought them a unique closeness with their daughters over the years.

“It was crucial to have an authentic vibe and for it not to feel contrived,” said Eavan Mulligan of Nudge Marketing, who created the piece.

“It would have easily crossed a “aren’t we great” line. We wanted real people, and real stories in a natural and inspiring fashion, with lots of laughter.”

“When we were in the conception stage, we knew the facilitator was extremely important in achieving this, and Cliona Foley did it as only she could.

It was a magical week of athletics, and while the action on the track was special, it is sometimes in the reactions afterwards that real character and connection grow strongest.

RTÉ unearthed a gem when they asked David Gillick to do the post-race interviews at these major meetings.

His blend of empathy and enthusiasm is as great in the high moments as it is in the disappointments. His chat with the relay team after their Silver medal on Wednesday night was a classic. But even that was put into the shadows by this conversation with Ciara Mageean on Sunday night.

The Euro’s start tonight and while there is no Irish presence there will still be massive interest.

Adidas have focused on England’s (sad) history in the tournament (no wins) and rather than lean into managing expectations they have let fly with a treatment of Hey Jude (Bellingham) to get hopes soaring once again.

There are some celebrity appearances from David Beckham and Stormzy. Jude Bellingham is 20 years old.
