Ireland’s fifth National Workplace Wellbeing Day will take place on Friday, 12th April 2019.

Public and private sector organisations across the country are being encouraged to participate in the day, which aims to improve employee health through promoting better physical activity and nutrition in the workplace.

As part of this year’s activities, employers are being called upon to arrange a “Lunchtime Mile” – a one-mile cycle, jog, run, walk or swim for employees in the vicinity of their workplace.

Ireland Active is one of the organisations, alongside IBEC, that is promoting the initiative.

More than 700 companies took part in 2018, and with an ever greater emphasis on wellbeing, it is expected that number will climb in 2019.

Let us know of any initiatives around staff wellbeing that you are undertaking and we will feature them as part of a series linked to workplace wellbeing that week.

Watch out as well for a couple of initiatives which Sport for Business will be bringing forward in this area, one in late spring and one in the autumn that we think will be of real interest.
