Now that very technology enables us all to be in the inner circle and this evening at 5 PM Irish time we will be at Whoop Unlocked 2021, in what promises to be a best in class presentation.
We have been promised the unveiling of revolutionary technology that will ‘unlock human performance and that we will hear from some of the world’s leading athletes.
That is not an empty promise with Michael Phelps, Tom Daley and Nelly Korda among those who will be appearing.
With the latest fundraising round valuing the business at €3.6 billion, 50 per cent more than Google paid for Fitbit earlier this year, the stakes are high to make a big impact and this is an event that will introduce the technology to a new audience.
It is different to Fitbit in that the band is free but a monthly subscription is required. It is similar in that it gives you access to a wide range of human performance data.
It is different to Strava in that there is no free level to introduce you but there is the promise of similar communities of like-minded, body-conscious or performance conscious advocates.
