Sport for Business has undertaken a survey of our members’ and readers’ reaction to the new GAA broadcast deal.
The survey was distributed via our website and through social media in the 36 hours immediately following the announcement of the deal which allows wider international distribution of GAA matches but exclusive subscription coverage of 14 Championship matches for the first time.
Rob Hartnett of Sport for Business was in the RTE Primetime audience on Tuesday night when the subject was debated. It felt at the time that the balance of opinion was in favour of the deal but RTE stated that as a news and current affairs programme it had to be balanced in terms of the views it sought from the floor and from the contributors.
That is fair enough. This survey shows that among you, our readers, the decision is unequivocal.
