Taylor’s appearance on the social networking site is part of her relationship with Aramark Ireland, one of the countries largest facilities management companies that employs over 4,000 staff at almost 1,000 locations around the country.
Late last year the company launched a Right Track Pledge campaign. Taylor was appointed as its Health and Wellness Ambassador.
This evening she will take control of the Right Track Pledge Twitter account @RTPledge to answer questions about health and fitness, as well as giving insights into what she’s up to, her motivations and her inspirations.
“I’m really excited to take part in a Twitter Q&A as I think Twitter is a great way of getting a message out there, particularly about the importance of health and wellness,” said Taylor.
“It’s also a fantastic opportunity for me to share my tips and experiences with people directly and encourage them to get involved with the Right Track Pledge campaign.”
The Right Track Pledge campaign promotes healthy eating and work life balance. Aramark is encouraging people across the country to make their ‘Pledge’ to Katie to change one thing in their lives, be it big or small, and of benefit to their physical or emotional wellbeing.
“As well as tweeting your questions, I want everyone to tweet their pledge. Whether your pledge is to take the stairs, go for a walk at lunch, or join a volunteer organisation, the aim is to get people to think twice about how their choices are affecting them and make one change for the better.”
For each ‘Pledge’ received, Aramark will make a donation of 20 cent to the company’s four chosen charities for 2014.
There are a number of ways to submit a pledge. People can log on to Twitter and tweet their Pledge using the hashtag #RightTrackPledge or like the Right Track Facebook page and post their pledge. Alternatively, people can log on to Pinterest, follow the Aramark Ireland page and ‘pin’ their pledge to the Right Track Pledge board with a photo or video.
This is an excellent example of a well constructed CSR campaign using sport as a touch point among staff and the broader public.
