AIG’s Season Launch

AIG Insurance has launched the second year of it’s sponsorship of Dublin GAA by offering club members across the capital a 17% discount on annual premiums.

The firm has also launched a social media competition running to the end of this month inviting fans to share photos of themselves in iconic Dublin locations using the twitter hashtag #DublinOurHome and tagging @AIGIreland.

The winning photo will be selected by Dublin footballer Bernard Brogan and gat a €200 sports voucher.

Social media promotion and engagement across other sports will be a feature of AIG’s second year on the biggest selling shirt in the GAA, as is revealed this morning in an exclusive Sport for Business interview with Sponsorship Manager, John Gillick.

The sponsorship deal was signed last year and covers each of the Dublin football and hurling teams as well as Camogie and Ladies Football.

“Everyone involved in Dublin GAA is really looking forward to the upcoming season,” said County Board Secretary John Costello.

“It’s an exciting time of the year with renewed hope for all our teams across 2015. We’d like to thank AIG Insurance for all they have done so far as our sponsors and, having seen their plans for the year ahead, supporters have lots to look forward to”.

“2014 was a hugely successful beginning to AIG Insurance’s sponsorship of all codes of Gaelic games in Dublin,” added General Manager of AIG Insurance in Ireland, Declan O’Rourke.

“Dublin teams enjoyed success at league, provincial and All-Ireland levels and we’re hopeful that all the teams can surpass that success this year.”

“2014 also allowed AIG to offer a range of discounts to Dublin supporters. We want to ensure we are doing everything possible to allow those supporters to get behind the Dublin teams and that will continue in the twelve months ahead starting with today’s announcement.”

“We’ll also continue to be very visible at Dublin games; we’ll continue our ticket and flag give aways and we’ll also be introducing new initiatives such as the #DublinOurHome social media campaign. There’ll be plenty of other campaigns and competitions throughout 2015.”
