Basketball Ireland has unveiled its new logo ahead of the start of the 2015/2016 season.

The new graphic has been designed by Youth Nation, a Dublin based agency specifically targeting the 14-24 age group and which publishes the Teen Times and College Times online portals.

The ‘reboot’ of the branding will be rolled out on a phased timetable starting with social media and then moving through the other areas in which the brand is seen.

It’s part of an undertaking to create a new brand identity for Basketball’s governing body in the 32 counties.

“The new logo demonstrates the energy and vitality that is currently in our sport,” said Basketball Ireland Marketing and Sponsorship Manager JP Montgomery, “However it’s more than just a new logo – it’s a symbol of our continued commitment to improve all levels of the game in Ireland and adopt best practice from the leading nations in Basketball.”

“We believe the new logo’s vibrancy and design reflects our position in sport within Ireland and our community’s pride in the game they love. It has a more youthful style and also gives us the versatility we need to operate in a competitive sports market. It will look right at home on everything from our web presence to our playing shirts.”

Basketball is on a roll at present with the Ireland U16 Girls team making it to the top 8 in Europe and Hibernia Basketball getting ready to represent Ireland in European Club Competition later this year.

They are currently engaged in a variety of fundraisers including a golf day which is being promoted using this pretty special video created using the crossover ‘Golfsketball’ skills of JP Montgomery and filmed at the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght.
