
The Sponsorship Team of the Year was won by Three led by Gavin McAllister, fresh from celebrating Ireland’s qualification for the Euro 2016 Championships and a four year extension of the Three sponsorship.
It was also a winning start to her career with Three for Siobhan McCartan who only joined the company as Sponsorship Executive on Tuesday. That’s good timing.
Sport as ever proved to be the main source of sponsorship activation genius.
AIG took the award for Best Sports Team Sponsorship for its work with Dublin GAA across football, hurling, ladies football and camogie.

An Post landed the Sports Event award for an Rás while Aviva picked up the Best Grassroots sponsorship for the FAI Junior Cup.
AIB was back on the winners podium again this year with #TheToughest campaign winning Best use of Print and Outdoor advertising.
Heineken was a big winner picking up four awards for the #RunWithIt campaign in PR and ‘It’s Your Call’ in TV as well as for the Sound Atlas campaign in music and innovation.
The Sponsorship of the Year Award went to Vodafone for it’s Centre Stage music campaign. It was also a winner in the best entertainment sponsorship category for the Vodafone Comedy Festival.
Electric Ireland won awards for it’s work at the Electric Picnic and for the Darkness into Light campaign with Pieta House.
The Samsung Night Run picked up this year’s awards for Best use of Digital and Social media.
It was a great night of celebration. Other Sport for Business members and friends we caught up with on the night included Paul Dermody from Leinster rugby, looking forward to the Bath game this weekend; Eoin Conroy from Titan who will be doubling up his workload while Declan Byrne gets his tonsils removed early next week; Sarah O’Connor and the Wilson Hartnell team who were out in force; Elaine Caffrey and James Brogan from Legacy helping AIG to celebrate; Daragh Persse who pulled the whole night together; Stephen Quinn from Atomic and Bruce Mansour from the Irish Sponsorship Summit 2016 which is kicking into gear ahead of a formal launch in the coming weeks.
Well done to all our current and future members on due recognition for great work.
