Horse Racing Ireland will go into their Annual Awards at Leopardstown today with a real spring in their step.

A combined €85 million of investment in facilities at the Curragh and Leopardstown have been announced in recent months and the Champions’ Weekend concept that links those two tracks in September has had a second year of real success.

Add in the fact that British bookmaker Coral has been attracted a new sponsor with an investment of around €50,000 as a result of changes in how British racing is taking on sponsorship from betting organisations and you can sense a real mood of optimism emanating from the sport.

Sport for Business will be live at the Awards, bringing you the latest from Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney as he updates on progress to date of new legislation governing the sport and as the sport celebrates another year of success on the track as well as off it.
