For those who want to work in the commercial world of Irish sport roles can sometimes seem a million miles away. Today though we can bring you three that are currently being recruited for and offer the chance to be part of two sporting organisations that are very much to the fore in how sport is governed.
The first is Head of Commercial and Marketing with Connacht Rugby. It’s an exciting time for the fourth province in rugby historical terms but which has been muscling its way to the summit of the Guinness PRO12 this season.
Innovation such as the Green Hornet kit deal from last year, a long term deal with Lifestyle Sports on the front of the jersey and an impressive pipeline of new commercial partnerships mean that the person who gets this role will be building on an excellent period under the stewardship of Alex Saul who is moving on from Galway in the coming months.
One of the key responsibilities will be “To step change our customer service & brand experience programme, by putting our fans at the heart of our commercial and event operations.”
There will also be elements of building out a stronger CRM capability, developing future partnerships and maintaining existing ones.
Hopefully the new person into the role will build a close relationship with Sport for Business to assist in those areas.
The recruitment for this position is being handled by our friends at Sportsjobs.ie and you can see the job spec and application details here. Warning note that the closing date for applying for this role is Friday, February 19th.
